  1. What is the maximum seated capacity for a sit-down dinner?
  2. What is the capacity for a standing reception?
  3. Is there a separate space for the ceremony?
  4. Where do guests arrive and wait before the ceremony?
  5. Is there a bridal suite or getting-ready room?
  6. Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Catering & Drink

  1. Is catering in-house or do we use an external caterer?
  2. Can we see sample menus and pricing?
  3. Do you cater for dietary requirements (vegan, gluten-free, halal)?
  4. Is there a corkage fee if we bring our own wine?
  5. When does the bar close? Can we have a late bar?
  6. Is there a minimum spend on food and drink?

Logistics

  1. What time can suppliers access the venue for setup?
  2. What time must we vacate?
  3. Is there parking on site? Is it free?
  4. Do you have a recommended supplier list, and are we required to use it?

On the Day

  2. Do you provide a venue coordinator?
  3. Can we do a rehearsal?
  4. Is there a PA system and microphone for speeches?
  5. What is your policy on confetti? Are candles allowed?
  6. Can we bring our own cake?
  7. Are drones allowed for aerial photography?
  8. What do previous couples wish they’d known before booking here?

Pro Tip

Always visit the venue at the same time of day as your planned ceremony. Lighting changes everything. And always get quotes in writing — verbal agreements mean nothing when contracts are signed.
